The trails are marked, I'm 70 years old I would wear good hiking shoes maybe even carry a walking stick with me it can be a little rough and slippery on some sections but this is the real woods!
Recommend visiting on a hot summer day. The trails are shady and lead you through vine-covered forest areas. You have to cross several water crossings over slippery wet rocks to complete some of the trails. Two of the trail map highlights, Indian Rock and one of the quarries are covered in graffiti. We entered at the Royal Gardens entrance (see red barn photo). There is some street parking, but it is a carry in/out park with no restrooms. The park is dog-friendly only if your dog likes water crossings--ours balked after 1. Views of the Indian Creek from the trail are woth the trip.
This place have a lot of trees and a large field. They also have sprinklers for water play. It has a side for climbing(toddler) and a side for older children. Lots of nature. Park also offer swings for children about (4-5 for larger children and 2-3 for younger children. This park also have benches. I'm not sure if the eating area was for just the camp but there was an eating area. As well as a restroom. I took my class most child cares and camps come during the hours of 11:00-1:00pm
Really nice park with walking trails. The parking is good. There is two size of the park.. So enjoy...
City Ave end of the park has wooded walking trails along Indian Creek. Mostly too rugged for bicycles.
Neighborhood playground , they made some improvements, but the city can do more.
I had a hard time finding the walking trails. I enjoyed the walk at Morris Park once I found the main entrance to the wooded small trail. There is not much information about the park online as to where to park and where the trails start for the park. I initially went to the entrance near Papa Playground, there seemed to have been trails there at some point, but were not maintained. I left and drove to the other side of the park near 66th and Woodcrest Ave. There was not a true parking lot there; just residential parking but I also found a sign for a trailhead. The walk was short about a mile or less but otherwise a nice walk for a park in the middle of the city. The trail was not well marked and I ended up at a few dead ends.
This place is very spooky, this is not a park at all, there is no where to sit, no picnic area, no restrooms it's just a wooded area they call a park.
Actually, the reason I stopped there was because I had a seizure. I was alone, and and man who cared enough stopped and helped me. I wish I would see him again so I could thank him again now that I'm able to speak and understand completely …
Decent park for dogs, football or baseball. There are picnic benches and trash cans. The grass is regularly cut and scarcely any trash. Cons: no bathrooms and sits in the cross section of 2 major streets.
